LGU-Community Engagement
STRENGTHENING THE LGU-COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Empowering the children and the young, who are very much part of the community, requires the nurturing and enabling support from parents, family members, school, church and all stakeholders and duty-bearers to sustain their continuing journey. In like manner, the community is prepped up to be engaged in these youth empowerment programs with the bottomline objective of protecting children and the young. To attain these 2 interlocking objectives, CGPH has adopted the awareness-based systems change framework, a consciousness-based, action research approach to social transformation.
By adopting this framework, empowered children & youth and engaged communities emerging from a process of systems sensing, collectively builds a deep understanding of the current reality and the complexities surrounding OSAEC. Through dialogues and conversations, they gain different perspectives and develop empathy towards the issue, setting aside preconceived notions, assumptions, and biases to truly understand the experiences and needs of survivors and other affected parties.
The framework encourages the formation of cross-sector collaborations consisting of organizations, and relevant stakeholders as cited above. All participating representatives from different stakeholders may develop and test prototypes and initiatives, resulting to ownership that ensure sustainability in addressing the problem of OSAEC. CGPH strongly believes that prevention programs can only become sustainable through a structure and mechanism that would allow the creation of Cybersafe Homes and Cybersafe Schools founded on nurturing home and school environment with the LGU engaging the community to fight OSAEC.
