Pasig City Councilor, District II
Ma. Luisa De Leon-Rivera, more commonly known as “Angelu De Leon” is a City
Councilor representing the 2nd District of Pasig City. Before committing to a life in public
service, Angelu was active in the movie and TV industry for thirty years. Her work as a
talent and actress is well-recognized, having earned several nominations and awards
throughout the years, the most notable being the 1999 Metro Manila Film Festival where
she won the Award for Best Supporting Actress for her work in Bulaklak ng Maynila.
Simultaneous with performing roles on screen, she also took on roles in various
organizations in her community. She is a member of the Ortigas Jaycees since 2006, and
served as its Chapter President and a Director for Community Development, among
others, throughout her membership. She served and continues to serve as a Board
Member of Jesus Loves the Little Children Foundation, as well as the Riversprings School
in Pingabuhatan, Pasig City. She has also been a consistent partner in the Magnus
Eventus Job Fair, having been one for 12 years and counting.
Angelu took on the challenge of running for public office in 2021, with the vision of
championing good governance practices through her role as a local legislator. A loving
wife and mother of three, Angelu ran on a platform geared towards empowering women
and children, as well as the underserved sectors, through programs that would increase
their access to government services and ultimately promote their general welfare.
Despite being new to the sphere of politics, she clinched the top seat in the Sanggunian
for the 2nd District of Pasig City. Konsi Angelu is currently the Minority Floor Leader in the
City Council, and heads the Committee on Social Services and Solo Parent Affairs,
Committee on Tourism, Committee on Cultural and Spiritual Affairs, and the Committee
on Technology, Communications and Energy.
