Pagyabong reflects a commitment to nurturing individuals and communities. Ideas and inspirational practices were drawn from success stories shared by organizations and individuals in helping combat OSAEC and co-create safer cyberspace for children and youth — setting intentions and preparing the foundation for personal and community flourishing.

To flourish, CyberGuardiansPh held its summit for 2 days with the theme “PagYaBonG” last November at Buting Elementary School. This marks the 4th National Youth Leadership Summit for Safer Cyberspace, partnering with the Pasig City Local Government Unit to build long-term collaboration between young people, church authorities, private sectors, and government entities in co-creating a safer online environment.

Four keynote speakers addressed critical issues surrounding the protection of children, focusing on Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) and other forms of abuse — emphasizing prevention, recovery, and values education.

  • Rev. Fr. Flordelito Dador, Jr. shared his message on Protecting Children Against OSAEC and Other Forms of Cyber Threats Through the Renewal of Family Values.

  • His Excellency Most Rev. Gerardo A. Alminaza, D.D. spoke about the Role of the Church in Protecting Children from All Forms of Abuse.

  • Hon. Emmeline Aglipay-Villar delivered a short message on the Reintegration of OSAEC victim-survivors into the communities and the active role of DSWD in the battle against OSAEC through the implementation of the Recovery and Reintegration Program (RRP) of the government.

  • Atty. Renee Co exemplified values worth emulating by the youth.

Panel discussants included CGPH Cyber Youth Champion Mr. David Lumba, Mr. Rexson Paliuanan (Junior High School Valedictorian), Ms. Ma. Josefina M. Altavas (CWL National Board, National Chair-Family, Women, Youth and Life), Sr. Ma. Fe. Gerodias (President, Notre Dame Educational Association), and Ms. Jeannie de la Cruz (Social Worker, Salvation Army). Each speaker brought unique insights and strategies from their respective fields, emphasizing prevention, recovery, and moral development. The discussion was facilitated by Ms. Chenny Galano, President of TRAIL.

A glimpse of the Theatre Workshop and Talkback Session — part of CGPH’s Youth Formators Training of Trainers program for Pasig City — showcased creative and impactful methods of raising awareness and engaging youth in child protection efforts. This was conducted in collaboration with Tanghalang Pilipino.

Mr. Fernando “Tata Nanding” Josef, Jr., Artistic Director of Tanghalang Pilipino, Hon. Angelu De Leon, and Dr. Teresa Pauls S. De Luna emphasized the importance of creativity, advocacy, and actionable plans in addressing vital social issues.
